The Natural Language Technologies (NLT) Team is part of the Microsoft Office Division, responsible for providing Natural Language Technologies to the Office suite of products in over 90 languages. We develop and maintain features such as the spell checkers, thesauri and grammar checkers, to name a few.
Our team is looking for a person that wants to apply his/her linguistic knowledge to the commercial world by helping create the next wave of cool linguistic components to ship in future versions of Office. We are always looking for new opportunities in the area of computational linguistics, so there will be the prospect of some research to improve our current linguistic features.
— Work in the NLT international project engineering team to scale natural language technology to multiple languages.
— Work closely with the NLT test and project management teams (in Dublin and Redmond) as well as linguistic vendor teams around the world.
— Help execute linguistic quality assurance processes to ensure that released features maintain high linguistic standards.
— Contribute to the development of linguistic features for future Microsoft releases.
Note: This position is open for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students that have the ability to take a break in their studies. The standard duration is 12 months.
