CALL FOR PAPERS: The RuSSIR Young Scientist Conference and Summer School

The RuSSIR Young Scientist Conference was created to provide an academic forum that fosters young researchers working on modern problems and methods in information retrieval and related disciplines to share their ideas and results with participants and lecturers of Russian Summer School in Informational Retrieval (RuSSIR). This year, the 8th edition of the conference will be held within main RuSSIR program in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. (romip.ru/russir2014/)

We invite submission of papers describing innovative research on a wide range of IR-related topics and especially encourage works about visualization for information retrieval. Topics of interest include but not restricted to the following:

IR models
Web and social media IR
System architectures and scalability
Content representation and analysis
User aspects and interaction models for IR
Multimedia IR
Evaluation and user studies
Information visualization methods
Text analytics
Visual analytics
Perceptual and cognitive aspects.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Paper submission: June, 30, 2014
Notification of acceptance: July, 20th, 2014
Conference dates: August, 18-22, 2014

We invite only original submissions: we will not accept any paper that is under review or has already been accepted for publication in a journal or another conference.

Papers must be in English, up to 12 pages and be formatted according to Springer template: http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0.

IMPORTANT: Submissions should be only made electronically in PDF through EasyChair website: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=russirysc2014.

Accepted papers will be invited for publication in Springer CCIS RuSSIR 2014 proceedings (Springer Communications in Computer and Information Science series).

Papers would be presented by means of interactive posters during the conference. At least one of the authors should be less than 30 year old and be able to attend the conference.
