CONFERENCE ON TWITTER FOR RESEARCH — CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

### First International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Twitter for
Research (#TwLyon2015) ###
### April 24, Lyon ###
### Lyon, France ###
### www.conftwitter2015.org ###

#TwLyon2015 is a single day event where researchers from all scientific
disciplines will share their experience on using Twitter for research.

Twitter might be used in one field to investigate social networks.
Others might draw on Twitter for ethnographies of consumer behavior, yet
others use Twitter as a tool for predictive analytics for epidemics.
Twitter is also studied in its own right, with researchers testing
whether traditional natural langage processing tools and theories still
stand in the universe of 140 characters messages.

The objective of this day is to develop interdisciplinary awareness of
the possibilities afforded by Twitter for research.
Hence, we invite submissions from all perspectives and approaches
presenting results and developments in their area of expertise, where
Twitter played a role in the investigation.

Examples of possible propositions:
— Constitution of twitter lexicon for NLP
— Ethnographies of consumer behavior using twitter
— Opinion mining and sentiment analysis in twitter
— Detection of earthquakes in real time using twitter
— Syntactic analysis for twitter
— Twitter as a tool for predictive analytics for epidemics
— Detecting sarcasm using twitter
— …

#TwLyon2015 will be held in english. Please send your proposition as an
extended abstracts, up to 2 pages without references, via EasyChair
(www.conftwitter2015.org).
After acceptance notification for an oral or poster presentation, a
complete article can be send before #TwLyon2015. The proceedings will be
open access and online, with a DOI and referencing in HAL
(https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/).
We will try to accommodate all papers in the plenary session, but if the
program does not permit it a poster session will be organized. Please
indicate in your submission if your paper can be presented in plenary or
poster session.
#TwLyon2015 will be organized to maximize mutual learning opportunities:
short plenary presentations (25 to 30 minutes), speakers will be asked
to present their results to a wide audience (computer scientists should
thrive to be intelligible to sociologists and vice versa).
