Call for Contributions

Aims and scope. Exponential growth of data practically in all activity areas, consolidating role to be played by informatics and IT for the development of methods and facilities for data analysis and management in various data intensive domains (DID), study of experience in applying these methods and stimulating  their advancement have motivated the organization of this conference.

Main objective of this conference is to promote the acceleration of researches, improvement of their efficiency (quality and visibility of results, competitive ability) at the expense of the enhancement of methods and facilities for data analysis and management in DID. It is expected that the mutual complementarity of approaches in interdisciplinary DID will contribute to the creation of the corporate culture generalizing methods for data analysis and information systems development applicable in diverse DID.

Target audience. DAMDID conference is a multidisciplinary forum of researchers and practitioners from various domains of science and research promoting cooperation and exchange of ideas in the area of data analysis and management in data intensive domains (DID). For participation at the conference the specialists from such DID as X-informatics (where X = astro, bio, chemo, geo, medicine, neuro, physics, etc.), social science, economy, finance, etc., as well as specialists in the areas of statistics, informatics, data mining, machine learning, data science, new technologies and IT, business, etc. are invited.

Host organizers

  • Federal Research Center «Computer Science and Control» of RAS (FRC CSC RAS)
  • National Research University Higher School of Economics (NRU HSE)
  • National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (NRNU MEPhI)
  • Moscow ACM SIGMOD Chapter

Venue. The XVIII International Conference “Data Analytics and Management in Data Intensive Domains” (DAMDID/RCDL’2016) will be held during 11-14 October 2016 at the Ershovo Holiday Center, near 50 km from Moscow (about 1 hour from Moscow by car or by train). Information on transport and accommodation can be found at website. Two days before and after the conference It is planned also to organize in Moscow meetings and discussions with the conference participants at the institutes of the RAS, Moscow state university, Higher School of Economics, Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute (the photos of some of the buildings pls. find below), along with some social program in Moscow.

Conference topics. The open list of topics proposed for submission is organized in form of the tracks presented in the list given below (detailed characterization of each track can be found at the website).

Tracks of the sphere for data analytics and problem solving in data intensive domains (DID)

  • Peculiarities of data in DID
  • Problem statement and solving in DID
  • Organization of experiments in DID
  • Hypotheses and models (as constituents of research experiments in DID)
  • Advanced data intensive analysis methods and procedures
  • Conceptual modeling of a universe of discourse in DID
  • Application of data intensive analysis in DID research

Tracks of data management in DID

Conference Proceedings. Conference Proceedings will be published locally before the conference as a collection of full texts of regular and short papers, abstracts of posters and demos, as well as in electronic form on the conferences website. Texts of regular papers will be submitted for publication as post-proceedings in the European repository of the CEUR Workshop Proceedings. Furthermore, a volume of post-proceedings with selected papers from DAMDID/RCDL’2016 will be published with Springer in their Communications in Computer and Information Science series (provided that enough number of good papers in English has been submitted). Authors should follow specific submission guidelines as explained at the website.
