The Department of Mathematical Linguistics (Faculty of Philology, St. Petersburg State University), jointly with the Institute for Linguistic Studies (Russian Academy of Sciences), and the Department of Educational Technologies in Philology (Faculty of Philology, Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia) are pleased to welcome you to the Corpora 2017 International Conference (http://www.corpora.phil.spbu.ru/).
The Conference will be held in St. Petersburg on June 27-30, 2017.
The Conference will cover a wide range of issues in corpus linguistics, of either theoretical or practical significance.
The main topics of the Conference include but are not limited to the following:
Corpus representativeness and source selection;
Extra linguistic annotation of texts in corpora;
Morphological and morphosyntactic tagging;
Designing sophisticated tools for term extraction, etc.;
Developing corpus managers and linguistic search engines;
Named-entity recognition based on corpora;
Corpora and machine translation problems;
Developing linguistic resources;
Developing corpus linguistics standards;
Providing a user-friendly interface;
Using corpora in linguistic research.
An important aim of this Conference is to coordinate various corpus linguistics projects in Russia, as well as to develop corpus linguistics standards. The results of the Conference will be summarized at the round-table discussion open for every interested attendee.

Deadline for submission of contributions: March 10, 2017
Notification of acceptance/rejection: April 15, 2017
Deadline for submission of camera-ready papers: May 1, 2017

Papers shall be sent via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, with the subject being Title of the paper: Author’s name.
During the review, preference will be given to the papers that fully comply with the Conference topics and are of much interest as regards corpora development and use.
The Proceedings will be published by the time of the Conference. The Proceedings will be indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and published on the Online Research Library website.
Conference languages: English, Russian.
50% discount is provided for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The registration fee covers the conference package, refreshments and publication of the Proceedings.

Currently, we accept preliminary applications for participation, since, according to the rules of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), we shall submit the Conference Preliminary Program.
Please send us your preliminary application by November 25, 2016 with the following information specified:
Your full name;
Employer / occupation;
Preliminary title of your paper.
The preliminary application is not a prerequisite for participation. The preliminary title of your paper can be further amended in your main application.
